From our Garden to our Freezer

I love living where I can put in a large vegetable garden every year.  This year we put our biggest garden in ever.  We have corn, tomatoes, green peppers, string beans, cucumbers, broccoli, cabbage, celery, lettuce, pumpkin, watermelon and onions.  I can’t wait until everything starts coming in, so I can begin the canning and freezing process.

Broccoli has been the first item to become ready to eat.  We discovered growing broccoli is an easy crop.  I hope to plant a lot more next year, since we eat it all the time here.  Out of our six plants we have had three mature and be ready to be cut.  Sadly I frozen it all before we ate any.  I guess I was so excited I totally forgot to make some for supper.  Next round for sure!
